Topic 4.
Hordes of stray dogs are chasing homeless cats actively.
Section 4.2 Hordes of stray dogs, while hunting cats, mostly at night and in the morning, when there are no people in the yards and streets, mop up virtually all Moscow yards, looking into the air-vents of the basements with a view to running down cats. In most cases, each such raid results in an excruciating death of one or several cats. Usually, a horde quickly runs about the locations likely to be inhabited by cats. Taken by surprise, cats often lose orientation and are too late to respond and run away to the basement or jump up a tree. If dogs find any signs of cats’ presence in the yard, the horde will keep coming to the place, watch for the cat and run it down, until the dogs catch it.
