Èíöèäåíò ïðîèçîøåë ðÿäîì ñî ñòðîèòåëüíîé ïëîùàäêîé íà êîòîðîé ðàáîòàëè ðîäèòåëè äåâî÷êè. Ïðèáåæàâ íà åå êðèê îíè óâèäåëè äåâî÷êó ëåæàùåé áåç äâèæåíèÿ â ëóæå êðîâè.  áîëüíèöå âðà÷è êîíñòàòèðîâàëè ñìåðòü. Íà òåëå ðåáåíêà íàñ÷èòàëè 25 óêóñîâ.
Infant mauled to death by stray dogs
A one-and-half-year-old baby girl was mauled to death by around five stray dogs in the city today, police said.
The victim, Payal Tadvi, was attacked by around five stray dogs at an under construction building site at Ring Road near Salabatpura area here in the city, Police Inspector M S Patel of Salabatpura area said.
"The incident occurred when the girl's parents were busy working at the construction site. The girl, who was playing nearby, was attacked by the stray dogs, who dragged and severely bit her," he said.
When her parents heard the cries of their daughter, they rushed to her only to see her lying in a pool of blood.
Other labourers, working at the construction site, took the victim to Surat civil hospital, where the doctors declared her brought dead, Patel said.
According to police, the body was sent for post-mortem and further inquiry into the case has been initiated.
Meanwhile, Surat Municipal Corporation's standing committee chairman Nirav Shah said police would probe the allegation that the affected family had not been given proper shelter by the builder.
"The owners of the construction site did not provide proper shelter to the family and the police will look into it. But we will expedite our drive to curb increasing population of stray dogs in the city," Shah said.
